Services
Our service provides diagnostics and treatment of a wide range of mental disorders in childhood and adolescence.
Psychometric assessments and diagnostics
for developmental delays, learning difficulties, partial performance weaknesses, giftedness, attention difficulties, autism spectrum disorder, etc.
Psychological counselling
for behavioural difficulties, parenting issues, family distress (e.g. sibling rivalry, divorce/separation situations, relationship problems, mental/physical illness of a parent, loss/grief), developmental and puberty crises, self-esteem concerns, etc.
Psychotherapy
for attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder (ADD/ADHD), autism spectrum disorder (ASD), anxiety disorders (separation anxiety, social anxiety, performance anxiety, specific phobias, selective mutism), obsessive-compulsive disorders, tic disorders, adaptation and stress disorders, depressive episodes, sleep disorders, disorders of social behaviour (with oppositional behaviour), psychosomatic disorders, excretory disorders (enuresis, encopresis), attachment disorders, infant regulatory disorders, etc.
About us
We are two federally recognized Psychotherapists with a professional license in the canton of Wallis and members of the Association of Psychologists of Wallis (APW). We work according to a systemic-behavioural therapeutic approach and the professional guidelines of the Federation of Swiss Psychologists (FSP).
For us scientifically based, yet individually adapted approaches are central. We tailor our therapeutic work to the personal development of the child and adolescent, taking into account their different environments. Our goal is to support families in their process of change in a solution-oriented way and to mobilize their own strengths to cope with difficult situations.

Registration and procedure
- The registration takes place directly with the respective psychologist by postal mail or email.
- At the first session, we take the time to understand your current situation and come to an initial evaluation. We then decide, whether there will be a further cooperation and jointly determine the treatment goals. Please fill in the personal data sheet and read the patient information.
- The consent and cooperation of parents/ guardians is a prerequisite for the psychotherapeutic support of children and adolescents.
- All conversations are subject to professional confidentiality. If you wish, we are happy to work with medical doctors, teachers or other specialists and important relatives.
Costs
- The fee for a consultation is CHF 160.- per 50 minutes. This applies both to sessions at the practice as well as online consultations.
- Test evaluations and reports are charged at the same rate depending on the time required.
- Appointments can be cancelled 24 hours in advance without any costs. In case of short-term cancellations or no-shows, the full amount will be charged.
- Psychological psychotherapy may partially be covered by supplementary insurance policies of the health insurance company or invalidity insurance. We meet all the requirements and are registered on the list of «santésuisse» and the Federal Social Insurance Office (FSIO).

The practice psyWAL has two locations in Visp and Termen (form March 2024 on).
In Visp the practice is located directly on the Kantonsstrasse 12 A on the 2nd floor (with a lift) and is within walking distance of the train station. There is public parking nearby (e.g. La Poste car park).
In Termen the practice is located directly on the Termerstrasse on the 2nd floor (without lift) and is within walking distance of the bus stop “Feldgraben”. There is one visitor parking space as well as public parking nearby (e.g. blue zone).
